Jesus, you said to this woman that she did not know what she was asking.  She was not doing her sons any favors and was harming the community.   What is worse than being in a job you do not deserve and for which you are not qualified?  What is worse than being thought an interloper rather than a deserving applicant?

Everyone asks me favors.   Stiffen my resolve to keep things fair and to cast a wide net when filling openings so that we get the best people for the job and are fair to those without power but with ability.

David was a ruddy youth chosen to go against Goliath rather than his brothers.
